Welcome to UNESCO at JayMUNC 2026. This committee takes on two crises of preservation. In Topic A, delegates will work to protect the world's endangered languages, weighing dominant-language education against mother-tongue instruction and finding affordable ways to support revitalization in developing nations. In Topic B, delegates will address the fate of mountain waters, the glaciers and snowpack that sustain over a billion people, by tackling transboundary disputes, climate-driven melt, and the inclusion of Indigenous and local stewards. Across both topics, delegates must ask how UNESCO can empower affected communities as decision-makers in protecting resources that, once lost, cannot be rebuilt.
