The Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary General offers the most challenging and unique committee experience of Jay Munc. The committee topic will remain a secret until the beginning of the first committee session, at which point the background guide will be released and delegates will enter into debate and committee procedure without preparation. Success will be predicated upon having a diverse skillset, employing practical yet creative solutions, and a capacity to engage in high-caliber debate. To find yourself in the Ad-Hoc is to find yourself amidst mysteries unknown and challenges yet to be seen. Best of luck, delegates.
Chair
Lakshya Mutha is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins double majoring in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering, and most of his time goes into figuring out how to make healthcare more accessible to the people who need it most. He grew up in Rajasthan, India, where MUN became his thing. He ran his school's club and hosted one of the state's biggest conferences. All that time on stage is also how he ended up giving a TEDx talk. When he's not in class, he's probably planning his next trip or finding an excuse to try coffee somewhere new
Crisis Director
Kristen Alvey is a sophomore double majoring in Political Science and Sociology while minoring in Environmental Studies. She is originally from Orlando, Florida. This year, Kristen is serving as one of the Training Directors for the Hopkins Model UN Travel Team. Within Baltimore, you can typically find her catching a movie at the Rotunda, begging her friends to get brunch at La Maison, or walking through Wyman Park on her way to get ice cream at the Charmery.
